Clattenburg. Nottingham Forest. The Defective State of Turkish Football
Clattenburg
The appointment of the former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg at Nottingham Forest as a referee analyst is mystifying, to advise on the referee’s decisions post the Nottingham Forest matches to manager Nuno Santo, the coaching staff and players to learn curve a better understanding of negative decisions against, to improve the club’s image, how? To what benefit? What’s the end game? Where’s the takeaways? There’s none.
Clattenburg in turn would run free to the PGMOL, the match official’s governing body with a loaded gun of attraction on any contentious issues against the Forest. Clattenburg likes to rock with arrogance all cocky Robin badged up seeking to challenge match decisions in the referee’s quarters, that area should remain off-limits. Clattenburg betrays what he previously preached, only managers and club’s selected listed coaching staff on the team sheets can approach officials post-match at the referee’s discretion, to suggest that the referee’s would be loathsome of Clattenburg, there’s a rat in the house.
The perplexing belief that the Forest players can change their tackling techniques, the come dancing linking of arms inside the penalty box mayhem with the flying elbows and mis-timed headed aerial duals to avoid the referee’s card fest on the judgement calls of Clattenburg spoils the clown’s makeup with tears of laughter, is Clattenburg on a Jolly? The mocked up titled ‘analyst’ position employed by a club is the first of its kind and hopefully the last, sanctioned! Link to articles May 31st 2022 ‘Dozy Clattenburg’ and May 3rd 2019 ‘The Men in Black’ Manero gives an insight on the officials.
Forest Sanctioned
Nottingham Forest hit with a four point reduction for over stretching on the financial fair play rules with 34.5 million pounds over the limit being the breach. The Forest breach out played Everton’s by a 14 million pound landslide and a two point less reduction. Forest’s admission of guilt led to the lesser sanction, does that make sense? It has to be ripped apart because of Forest’s reckless spending and knowingly breaching the FFP rules. Forest’s flight of fancy was based on the club being prepared to suffer penalties from the Premiership honchos in return for keeping their Prem status, the club did not cater for a points deduction. Forest were warned early June 2024 to reduce their overspend by the end of June, the club refused to sell Brendon Johnson to avoid any breaches, a bigger profit on the player later was the agenda. The breaches revolve around figures and the Independent Commission has failed to implement to a reasonable grounding, it’s a lottery, pick a number. Number 2, 4,6,8,10,12 bingo, minus points calling!
The Defective State of Turkish Football
Strife in Turkish football, with club chairmen attacking match officials and supporters invading the pitch utilizing the corner flags as spears to attack the players, crazy loon tunes, lock them all up, throw away the keys, dance in tune to the cell birds for the crazed. The attacks begs the questions, where were the police? Absent on leave? The stewards battled valiantly low on numbers? Slow to react? FIFA and UEFA issued their normal no action or minimal action with the governing bodies normal pitiful statements condemning the violence, is that it? Link to article 2nd Feb Vanity Fair, ‘No Turkish Delight’.
The match in question being the Turkish Super Liga encounter with the Trabzonspor v Fenerbahce the Trabzon supporters were blamed for the violence, not a Fenerbahçe thug in sight, is that right? The Fenerbahçe responded with a threat to withdraw from the Turkish Super Liga, hollow threats with no substance, where are they going to play, out in no man’s land? Engage the kebab heads before issuing statements, the withdrawal threat was withdrawn at a shareholder’s vote, no surprise there Cilla. The padrons of the club then proceeded to instruct the club’s Under Nineteens v Galatasaray to exit the pitch on two minutes in protest at the Trabzon violence to twin at the Turkish Federation for failing to the club’s request to cancel a Liga match prior to a Europa League match, shame on them for joy sticking young players as political pawns, a disgrace off the pitch. Trabzon have been sanctioned to play three matches behind closed doors, what’s the beef?
